Collaborate Innovate: Industry-Research Collaboration for a Thriving Australia

ACM CRC Media Team • June 17, 2024

Cooperative Research Australia (CRA) is gearing up for another annual conference, with this year’s theme centred on Australia’s growing capacity and capability to lead various industries across the globe.

The theme aligns nicely with ACM CRC’s mission: to help Australia reposition its manufacturing and sovereign engineering capability to capture emergent markets.

“The Collaborate Innovate conference is renowned for connecting members of the wide community engaged in industry-research collaborative entities,” said Dr Steve Gower, CEO of ACM CRC and CRA Board Member.

“I look forward to this opportunity to extend our own networks and build on our sovereign manufacturing capability.”

This year’s program will see experts sharing insights and updates relating to the business of industry-research collaboration, and perspectives on innovation for Australian resilience.

“Although we’re still at the early stages of our 10-year program, we always have our impact objectives in mind,” Dr Gower continued.

“Our vision is to transform Australia’s established composite technologies capability into a world-class, highly automated, digitally enabled network of designers, manufacturers and service providers. The conversations and collaborations that this conference facilitates act as a fantastic catalyst for improvement and innovation, with some of Australia’s leading research and business minds coming together to achieve a common goal – to see Australia thrive.”

Dr Steve Gower, together with Professor Ganga Prusty (Director of Research), Dr Puneet Garg (Research Portfolio Manager) and Nicole Phelan (Research Partnership Manager) will be attending the CRA’s Collaborate Innovate conference, which will take place at Sofitel Brisbane from Monday 22nd – Wednesday 24th July.

The ACM team will be delighted for you to approach them at the event with any questions you may have around the ACM CRC’s research and projected impact, and to discuss potential opportunities for collaboration.
